they're definitely a harsh flavor. For me it was Wtf is this? Until one day it clicked and I find their obscurity alluring. Don't know why.

ZzzQuil is just benadryl, I recomend for more longterm effects 3mg melatonin for 7 days taken at the same time each night (2 hours before desired bedtime)

I may give that a shot. Have to be careful though because anything too strong and it triggers me to sleep walk. Crazy I know.

Melatonin is an enzyme that occurs naturally in the body, I doubt it would cause parasomnia.
